All Opening Statements by Art Glass Millworks wood products are warranted for the time period set forth below, subject to the restrictions and conditions which follow, to be free of defects which would render said wood products unserviceable or unfit for ordinary, recommended use.
If an Opening Statements wood product does not meet the above stated standards, Art Glass Millworks will, at its discretion either repair the product, replace the product in the original condition supplied to the distributor, or refund the original purchase price paid to Art Glass Millworks for the product.
Unless otherwise expressly provided herein, Art Glass Millworks shall not pay for the cost of labor or installation of the replacement or original product or for any other cost relating to the replacement of the product, all of which shall be the sole responsibility of the person making the warranty claim. All visible defects must be reported before the product or products are originally installed.
For the purpose of this limited warranty, misuse is defined as, but not limited to, installing a product on any side of a structure without adequate overhang. Adequate overhang depends on the direction the product faces and therefore its' potential exposure to sunlight and rain:
NORTH, EAST AND NORTHEAST-FACING PRODUCTS: Adequate overhang projection for north-, east- and northeast-facing products is defined as one half of the measurement from the bottom of the product to the base of the overhang structure. See example drawing A below.
SOUTH, WEST AND SOUTHWEST-FACING PROCUCTS: Adequate overhang projection for south-, west- and southwest-facing doors is defined as equal to the measurement from the bottom of the door to the base of the overhang structure. See example drawing B below.
In addition to the correct overhang projection above, the overhang must extend out to each side of the door frame a minimum distance of one (1) foot. These requirements must be met to qualify for warranty coverage.
If the claimed nonconformity is warp, Art Glass Millworks may defer repairing or replacing the product for a period of up to six (6) months from the date of claim or the date when the product was installed, as it is not uncommon for a temporary warp condition to occur as doors adjust to local humidity and temperature conditions. This deferral will not be counted against the warranty period.
Claims under this Limited Warranty must be made in writing within the period of this warranty and prior to beginning any repair work to: Warranty Services, Art Glass Millworks, Inc., 3111 Golf Course Drive, Ventura, CA 93003. Claims must detail the date and location of purchase, the nature of the problem, and the name, address and telephone number of the person making the claim. Art Glass Millworks reserves the right and must be given at least thirty (30) days to have any door which is the subject of a warranty claim field inspected by an Art Glass Millworks representative.
This Limited Warranty sets forth Art Glass Millworks maximum liability for its wood products. Art Glass Millworks makes no other warranty, expressed or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose with respect to its products except as set forth above. No distributor, dealer or representative has the authority to change or modify this Limited Warranty. In no instance shall Art Glass Millworks be responsible for consequential or incidental damage.
This limited warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may have additional rights, which vary from state to state. Some states do not allow exclusion or limitation of implied warranties or incidental or consequential damage, so the limitation or exclusion may not apply to you. IN SUCH CASE, THE DURATION OF ANY IMPLIED WARRANTY SHALL BE THE SAME AS THAT OF THE EXPRESSED WARRANTY STATED HEREIN.
This Limited Warranty applies to all Opening Statements products.
You have purchased a wood door product. The following instructions are intended for the use of homeowners in caring for and handling Opening Statements wood products, and are required to maintain warranty protection for the product.
Wood doors require regular maintenance and treatment to remain in good condition and appearance. The integrity of the paint or finish must be maintained to insure continued protection of the wood and warranty protection.
On a regular basis (ideally once per month), wipe down all surfaces inside and outside with a clean DAMP (not wet) cloth. Treat wood doors as you would treat a piece of fine furniture and never use caustic or abrasive cleaners.
Immediately wipe dry any moisture that contacts the surface of wood products during porch cleaning, etc. including the top and bottom edges of the doors, where water absorption is likely to occur. Wood products are NOT designed to be exposed directly to water or other moisture, including misdirected sprinklers.
Directly following the installation of your product, check to be sure that the surface of the finish (paint or clear top coat) has not been damaged or compromised in any way that would allow moisture to absorb into the wood. If a problem is found, your installer or professional painter must immediately repair it. The first maintenance check should be made every six months after the initial installation of your doors. Inspect every surface of the product for cracks in the finish surface or bare spots where finish may have rubbed off. Cracks or lack of paint/top coat will allow moisture to enter the wood, resulting in cracks, splits and warping in the product. Regular exposure to sunlight will shorten the life of the finish.
As needed, sand lightly all surfaces with 320-grit sandpaper or 0000 steel wool to remove embedded dirt particles. Next, wipe down all surfaces with a soft, clean, lint-free cloth. Apply to all surfaces one coat of exterior grade topcoat compatible with original finish, and allow drying time per product instructions. Check and maintain the finish every six months throughout the life of your doors.
During these six-month checks, always be sure to look at the top and bottom edges of doors. It is imperative that these critical edges be fully protected with paint or topcoats free of cracks or scrapes in the finish surface.
Please keep this guide with your Limited Warranty. These procedures must be followed to maintain warranty eligibility for your Opening Statements products.
